The quickest approach is to use the Instagram app on your phone, albeit this isn’t accessible to everyone. Tap the hamburger menu in the upper right corner of your profile and choose Settings. Click Account and scroll down the menu. Under the “Branded Content” tab is a “Delete Account” button.
Whether you have it, tapping it will bring up a menu asking if you want to remove or deactivate your account. By logging back in before a specified date, you may halt the deletion process. Tap the red “Continue removing account” button to finish the procedure. If you don’t have the “Delete Account” option, try it online.
DELETING INSTAGRAM ON THE WEB
If you can’t use the app to deactivate your account, you may follow these instructions from a computer or phone using a browser.
This may be done by clicking here or by following the link in Instagram’s account deletion support article. You’ll need to log in if you’re not already (most people aren’t). You may need to enter your password twice throughout the deletion procedure, so now is a good opportunity to memorise it.
You should land on an old Instagram page with a choice asking why you wish to cancel your account. With each choice, you may be provided a link to Instagram’s support centre or a notice asking you to check whose account you’re deleting.
Choose one of the links below and input your password in the box. After that, press or click the “Delete (your account name)” option to confirm.
Instagram states on the account deactivation page that your data will be kept for 30 days. However, your profile and posts will be hidden. If you’re breaking up with Instagram, don’t forget to uninstall it from your phone. This will save you space and save you from re-registering for the service.
